I hope this finds you well and that you are having a good weekend. I have had a very nice day today. My Mother and Father-in-Law came to visit which was lovely as we hadn't seen them for a while. We decided to take them out for lunch and after waiting for about an hour and a half for our food we decided to leave and go elsewhere. We ended up feeding them with a KFC! Not quite the lovely meal that we were all looking forward to!!! However we all found it pretty amusing and it didn't detract from the lovely day.
What a great week it is for me this week - it's the school half term holidays. Yippee! I have been planning how to get the jobs needing doing as early in the week as possible and and then hopefully I can spend the rest of the week crafting. I can not believe it is then only seven weeks until the summer holidays. I know I shouldn't wish my life away but if you work in school you always do.
I ummmed and ahhhhed about which card to show you today. As some of you will know I have been making cards from a kit called Camden Town by Hunkydory. Since I received it I have made six cards from it but I almost feel like I am cheating. In the end I have decided to show one of the cards I've made from the kit and one I've made using an image I've had kicking about which I coloured a few weeks ago when I was ill.
This image is the first one I had ever coloured completely including the sky in the background. The background paper was made using scraps of different coloured papers - I just added some yellow ribbon to hide the joins. I am a bit of a newbie using the flowers I've used so I had to play around a bit to get them right - then they didn't end up how I decided! I am pretty pleased with it though. The card is for a friends birthday. She has a huge garden and loves robins. I can quite safely put it on my blog even though her birthday isn't until July as she is completely computer illiterate and is unlikely to find it!
As you can see from this card I have used lots of embellishments from the kit. I backed the background card on to gold mirror card. I twisted some bakers twine around it and added some screw brads to each corner and the rest I just added to build the picture. I actually really quite like the card.
Well I think I have probably rabbited on for long enough. Time for my bed I think. Have a fab week....Lea x
