Auntie card

Good morning all

Well I am sitting about trying to get myself moving this morning. So much to do but no inclination at all. I've started my morning catching up on what people are doing out there. There are some stunning creations as usual.

I spent all day yesterday setting up an online shop on folksy.com. Very scary but I have no home for some of my cards and I thought it was worth a try and sell ones that I've made for the sheer pleasure and not for specific people.

My card today is one I made for my auntie. The components were from my fave kit of all time Camden Town. The topper is pyramaged (I think that's what it's called - correct me if I'm wrong please). It is quite hard to see in the photos. The pics actually don't do the card justice. It is finished with butterflies, ribbon and gems. My auntie did love it I'm pleased to say.

Well I must get on. It is hair cut time this afternoon which I must say I do enjoy. I'll think of you all when I'm having my hair washed in the massage chair! Catch you again soon...Lea x

Birthday card

 Hi everyone out there

I hope this finds you all well. I have absolutely no idea where the first week of the school holiday has gone but it has! I spent today catching up on some jobs and had a big sort out of my crafting things. For those that know me well I don't have a craft room and so I craft in my living room on my lap. I am normally surrounded by my crafting goodies much to the disgust of Mr B. who thinks it is just a mess. I am yet to persuade him that everything around me is all the necessaries - he would die if he could see what else is upstairs! Still I am a very happy bunny with all my bits and pieces by my side.

My card today has found me playing around with ink again. This time I inked up my flowery embossing folder to get a letter press effect on some tan card. I was pleased with how it turned out so I will do this again. I cut it into two pieces and backed it onto black card. I decided not to use a backing paper on my base card as it already has a lovely hammered effect on it and seems a shame to cover it. One of my pieces was going to be horizontal  but I had a funny five minutes and put it the wrong way round. By the time I realised this I had to live with it because I had used glue on it. I then mounted my Gorjuss image (which I thoroughly enjoyed colouring with my promarkers as I just love these images) onto black card too. I added some flowers, ribbon, bling and a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment and it was job done.

I am trying to decide what to do about selling my cards as I am building quite a stock up now. I do sell cards through friends and family but I also make cards I just fancy making (like the one I've posted today!). I have considered selling them through Folksy. Has anyone tried doing this? If so I would love to hear how it went.

Well that's me off for now...hope to catch you again tomorrow....Lea x

Addicted...

Hello everyone

Just a quick post today. I have no card today because I have been so busy house working, blog hopping, and generally shopping for crafting stocks. I just haven't had time to craft! Woe is me! I must admit I also have a huge new addiction....it is Pinterest! I can spend hours trawling the site pinning and stealing ideas from everyone. I can not believe the amount of people that craft and just how very talented people are. It never ceases to amaze me! This post is really to say thank you to all those people that are generous enough to share their ideas and creations both on their blogs and on Pinterest.

That is all from me today. Very short. See you soon....Lea x

Inking and embossing!

Good afternoon everyone

I am having yet another quiet day. I could get used to this! I have been watching the launch of new products on Create and Craft. Unfortunately this usually ends up with me spending too much money. I will soon be the proud owner of new SB dies, new embossing folders and new Christmas stamps.

Yesterday I finally did the Anniversary card I needed to do. As you can see it is very pink. It is a mixture of me trying out things I've never done before. I masked a strip off and stamped hearts and then embossed them in white. I inked lightly over these in a pink distressing ink. I then used an embossing tool to score two lines  down the card then ran part of it through a dotty embossing folder. I then inked over this too. I have a heart embossing folder so used this to emboss a heart which I cut out and which, yes you've guessed, I inked over this too!

I added my usual flowers, ribbon and bling. I don't think it turned out too bad as it was a bit of an experiment.

I'm off now...until next time...Leax

Pretty lady

Hi everyone

Well that's another day done and dusted....they just go so quickly. I've managed to do a little bit of housework today. Now for some crafting.

Yesterday after making a card for my friend I decided to make an anniversary card for a family member. This is what I came up with....

Somehow I got sidetracked and made something entirely different! I coloured this image weeks ago. I started by embossing the pink card and then stuck it onto black. I then used an SB die to cut an aperture and placed some spotted paper behind it. By this time I knew this was not going to be an anniversary card!!! I stamped my sentiment added some flowers, lace, a bow and my usual sprinkle of bling and I was done. One birthday card made. I think I'm cracking up!!! Before I am committed I must get off and craft some more....Lea x

Just chilling!

Hi All

Well this is the first true day of the school hols. I have decided to ignore all housework etc today and just spend this first day enjoying it (to those that are not fortunate to be in the same situation my sympathies are with you).

I have just updated some of the photos on my blog. I don't know whether other people have the same problem but when I am too lazy to switch on my laptop I use the Blogger app to update my blog and I find that unfortunately when I do this the photos do not upload the same as on my laptop therefore when you try to open them they do not  come out very large (does that make sense?).

I've had a break from Christmas cards today. The card I have made is for a dear friend of mine. She is one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've used the Mo Manning digi stamp Deanna.  I've used papers from my stash backed onto a pink mirri card. I've actually kept things very simple and just added some flowers, a bow and some bling.

Hopefully she will like it. Well that's me done for today. Hopefully I will catch you again tomorrow. I'm off to make a family anniversary card now....Lea x

Reindeer

Good evening everyone

Phew well it's been a bit cooler today. Although I do want the nice weather it is good to have a bit of a respite.

I'm still on Christmas cards. I made an embossed one but unfortunately my pic does not show it very well so I can't share that one with you. I also made an unusual brown coloured one which Mr B hates. The first thing I did was try something new...after stamping my reindeer I decided to do an overlap of the die. It worked! I then stamped using a swirl stamp in two different brown inks all over my shaped card base - these have been sat around for ages (I am trying to use up loads of bits and pieces). I then added a gold knot bow (I have no idea what these are called) and added some matching bling.

Right I am off to do another now. Until tomorrow....Lea x

Nearly there!

Hi all out there in Blogland

As the title says I am nearly there! Just tomorrow to go at school then six wonderful weeks of crafting. I am so excited. Yes I know I shouldn't wish my precious time away but to just have some 'me' time is bliss! I could craft for England!

Well now for my first Christmas card of the year. I tend to vary what I do. Some I use toppers for others I use my dies and stamps. This one is using a topper

I added two different types of paper backed onto a red mirri card. I then added a vertical strip with ribbon and added my topper. A bit of ribbon and bling finished it off.

Last year I made nearly all of the cards I sent. I am hoping to make every single one this year. I've got five months!

I'm off now. Catch you all again soon...Lea x

Christmas!

Hello everyone

I hope you are still enjoying the weather if you are in the UK. I keep hearing people complaining it's too hot - we just can't win!

Well I settled down to start Christmas this morning and had nearly finished my first card when I had to stop to go to work (roll on next week, there won't be any stopping then). Lo and behold I got another order for a card...things are really starting to take off. A friend at work broke her leg gardening last week (unfortunate as it is going to be the hols) and someone at work asked me to do a 'Get Well' card. As she is not ill I decided the card shouldn't really say 'Get Well' so I have added a sentiment that came with the 'Inkydoodles' stamps I have used. The images and sentiment have all come from the 'In stitches' set. I haven't used my Inkydoodles stamps for ages. For a quick card I don't think it turned out too bad.

I started by stamping the needle and thread. I then stamped two of the bobbins, inked them and cut them out. I added bakers twine to these. I added a button and bling to the card. As I said it was a very quick, simple card.

Well I'm off to do some more playing. Hopefully I'll catch you again tomorrow....Lea x

Another birthday

Good evening everyone out there in Blogland

Well it is late yet again. I have done a ton of things today so I for once have good reason.

I have finished the third card I needed to finish this week too. I now intend starting to put together my Christmas cards. I started this time last year and just plodded at it. I did a few cards a week and just about had enough time last year.

Well first off though to the card I've just finished. I used my favourite colour purple. The colour on the pic does not do it justice. I used the PC to do the sentiment and backed it onto purple card. I backed pretty spotted paper onto the same purple card. I added lace, ribbon, my usual flowers and bling. I like to think it's turned out ok.

Well I'm off now to plan Christmas. Catch you soon...Lea x

Family

Good evening everyone

Well I have had a very busy day again (story of my life). My eldest son, his girlfriend and my gorgeous two grandchildren are down camping about 6 miles from us so it's been lovely to see them. I will also get to spend time tomorrow with them too so I'm looking forward to that. We managed to have the first BBQ of the year...boy it was so hot in out little garden. Fortunately I'm not the one who has to stand over the BBQ and cook (I'm so glad men like to do their he-man thing when BBQing).

I was able to finish a card that was ordered for a 21st birthday whilst waiting for them all to arrive. I am pleased with how it turned out.

You can't really see but I have pierced around the border of the card before adding the pretty pink papers. I used SB dies for the sentiment which I printed using my PC.  I then added lace, ribbon. flowers and a bit of bling. As it is a 21st birthday I also added a key charm to the ribbon. As I said I am very pleased with it as I love 'pretty'.

Well I am off again. I hope you all have a fab rest of the weekend. I am off to flit around all of your blogs to see what you've all been up to....Lea x

One week left!!!

Good evening all

Well I wasn't going to blog this evening but I thought I'd just pop in quickly...so here I am!

Well as you can tell from the title it's only one week left at work for us fortunate souls that work in schools. I am so excited to soon have loads of crafting time. I am trying to get three cards finished that I have been asked to make before the end of term. This card I am posting  is one I finished earlier.

I backed some pink flowered paper onto mirri card. I then printed the sentiment on my PC and then cut it out with labels 20 SB. I had placed the sentiment so that I could then emboss the white card that was left after. I glued this to the flowered paper. I raised the sentiment then added a bit of ribbon, lace and loads of bling and flowers.

Well I said it was a flying visit. Until next time....Lea x

Anniversary card

Morning all!

Well I thought I would post using the blogger app before I've even got my butt out of bed. Lazy madam I know! As I've said it's a busy day at school today so I've got to make the most of any spare moments. Hopefully all will go well and we will have a fab day. If you are in the area of Coney Hill Primary School in Gloucester do come along and join us at our 'Coney County Show'.

My card this morning is the anniversary card I made for my hubby. Black and white might not seem the most romantic but he likes the monochrome look. I used an embossing folder for the hearts. I cut them out in both colours. I backed my paper onto black, added some grosgrain ribbon with two fancy buttons and finished with some black pearls. I didn't add a sentiment because my hubby isn't very romantic and doesn't keep cards (handmade or otherwise - i have every card he's sent me over the last 25 years!) so I will end up using parts again in another form.

Well I'm off now - I must get my head together and get on. Catch you again soon. Here's hoping the weather is as fab for you as it is here - both my men have gone to watch the first match of the Ashes today so I am wishing them a fabulous day. Until next time....Lea x

and there's more.....

Hi everyone

Well I have been AWOL for a few days. I have had a fabulous three day weekend in Devon with my hubby and my parents. It has been a brilliant break...so lovely to do nothing at all except please ourselves. Lucky for Mum and Dad they are still down there where I had to return to work today. I'm not going to rabbit on too long today as this weather has worn me out. My cards today are three more little ones I've done to sell at our show tomorrow at school. Again I just used bits and pieces I'd had for ages and bits off old cards I'd received that I'd kept 'just in case'. The piccies are not so good again as I forgot to take pics before I'd bagged them.

Well I'd like to say that I'll catch you tomorrow but after spending the afternoon and evening in the sun for the show I think I might be asleep as soon as I get in.....enjoy the sun...Lea x

Boiling!

Wow just how hot is it? I can't believe we actually have gorgeous weather. I am pleased coz my two men are off to watch the first test match on Wednesday and as they've had tickets since November I'm desperate for good weather for them. Fingers crossed everybody please and thank you.

My card today is one I've been working on for a young lady. I am starting to get  orders from the guys at work now which is fab and which is keeping me busy. I decided to use blue which is very unusual for me. The backing papers are actually from a pack of baby papers (the name escapes me at the moment). The sentiment was done on my PC and cut out with SB dies. I threaded some bakers twine through this which helped to hold the heart charm. I then added bling, flowers and ribbon to dress it up.

I'm not sure what the pic will be like as I have done this post using the blogger app as I am on my way to bed and wanted to get this posted.  Hopefully it won't be too bad.
It's off to my bed now. Until tomorrow all. Stay safe....Lea x

Later and later!

Hi everyone

Oh my word I am getting later and later. I have spent this evening making small cards using up bits and pieces I have gathered over the last year. We have a fete to put on next week at school and as what we have been doing is based on growing I've tried to keep the cards linked to that theme. I've also kept them extremely simple as I want to make quite a few.

I apologise for the picture quality as I had already bagged them before deciding to blog. I used some masks I have had for absolutely ages to ink the base card then just really searched through my stamps for something suitable then added some bling and bows I had kicking around. The butterfly is recycled off an old birthday card.

Well that's me done. Until next time, take care....Lea x

Camden Town

Good evening all

Well I hope this finds you well. It has been a pretty nice day weather wise in good old Gloucester (although the wind has a tendency to be a bit chilly when it blows). It of course is my fave day of the week as it means no work at all....I am not rubbing it in honest! I popped out to the supermarket today and I can not tell you how great it is to be able to buy exactly what I want without worrying about whether I can carry it walking home or carry it on the bus. It is wonderful and I really am starting to wonder why I didn't do it years ago. Only thing is Mr B has said I have got to drive to Devon on Saturday (we are meeting Mum and Dad there). He reckons it will do me the world of good doing a long journey rather than my normal 15 minute ones....I'm not sure I agree as having him in the car seems to make me end up with my 'silly' head on and I do daft things. I am fine on my own and with my son in the car but put Mr B in and I go to pieces! Heelllp!

My card today is another I made using elements of the Camden Town kit. I must admit I love the colours in this one. I even had a lovely burgundy coloured mirri card to back my backing paper on. The stamp shape should be a card base but I have cut all of these in half and used them as a background for the topper. They just give it a bit of a lift. I wrapped bakers twine round three times and added a button to the bottom where it meets. Sometimes I just like doing a card that comes together quickly!

Well it is my bedtime now...well it will be when I've had a quick hop through some blogs to see what's going on in the world. Catch you again tomorrow....Lea x
