60th Anniversary card

Hi my blogging friends

Well at last I've finished the card I've been making. I've been ducking in and out of it all week. My week seems to have been very bitty and I don't really know what I've done - actually I did have two horrible fillings at the dentist. I hate the dentist big time. I think the dentists thinks I'm a daft bat!

Well my card is a commission I've been asked to do. It's a 60th Wedding anniversary card. How fab to be married so long.

used my new Tonic dies. I just love them. I used a mixture of white card and a lovely pink mirror card. My sentiment was PC generated. The paper is from Cupcake Boutique by Dovecraft.  I added lace, a brad, pearls (on a string and singular) and faux gems. I made a box and added a die cut and flowers to that.

I hope the happy couple will like it. It's good to finally catch up with you all. Thank you for dropping by and your lovely comments. Until next time...Lea x

Nearly my blogging birthday!

Hi everyone in Blogland

Well I hope this finds things ok in your neck of the woods. I know things are still very hard for people fighting against the elements and my thoughts are truly with you.

I have realised next week is my blogging birthday. I can't believe it is nearly a year since I decided to put myself out there. I don't have a huge amount of followers but I am grateful to the few that do take the time to look at my work and comment. Thank you so much for your support over the last nearly year.

My card today is a pretty girlie one. An 18th birthday one to be precise.

I ordered the Wedding embellishment kit from The Hobbyhouse a few weeks ago. I got a little carried away with embellishments on this card! The image is a LOTV stamp which I coloured with promarkers. I used an alphabet set for the sentiment (I'm not sure I like this so may change it yet).  I put a piece of peach coordinations paper through a flower embossing folder and sanded it back. I used a Tonic heart die shape to cut the heart shape out of this and used pads to raise it so my image sat in the die shape. I used some ribbon, lace and pearl beading across the card. Then I went a bit mad and added little pearl butterflies and pearl flowers with peach pearls in. Oh! Have I mentioned the flowers and the little key yet? As if that wasnt enough I then added some stickles to the flowers and image. I love stickles - I've only just discovered it - it's so easy to use.

Anyway I must disappear as Mr B has arrived home for tea. Until next time...Lea x

Ps I've just made a box for the card. I used Tonic dies to make the apperture and added some acetate to the opening.
I want to enter this card into this challenge:

Bye again x

Special birthday

Hello everyone

I hope this finds you all well. The weather has been a little more settled here today. I just hope it's the same for you all.

This year finds me with lots of special birthdays and other occasions happening  one of which is my daughter is getting married after having two kids and being with her other half for 13 .

Today I've made two male cards, one for a 21st birthday and one for an 18th. I kept them both similar as I struggle with male cards anyway.

I am entering the green card into the following challenge:

http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ - use a charm

I used a Couture Creation embossing folder for the key background. On the blue version I sanded back the paper and backed it onto white card. I did a lot of piercing with a piercing ruler round the edge of the white - I particularly like this effect. I did some stamping for the sentiments. On the green version I added a key charm on some bakers twine. The green was backed onto black card. For both I added faux gems to match the colours.

Anyway I'm on a roll so I'm off to carry on crafting. Hopefully catch you tomorrow...Lea x

My favourites - male cards!

Hello everyone out there in Blogland.

Well here I am again with three male cards to make for family members. You all know how much I love making male cards. Anyway I've done the first one so I'm on my way....

I stamped a balloon with a freebie from a magazine. I stamped it using the Paris Dusk ink pad yet again and also painted it too making different shades by just watering the ink down. For the background I used my favourite Inkydoodles Country Checks stamps. For the white top I put a piece of card through an embossing folder. The tag came from another Inkydoodles set of stamps. If you've not looked at Inkydoodles stamps it would be worth having a look - I love them. Anyway I added some bakers twine and will be adding a few gems to finish.

Before I go today I'd like to ask a question. Do you make cards and have a lot put away to sell or use or do you make cards on a as you need them basis? I am just very curious.

Thanks for popping by anyway. Be back soon....Lea x

Anniversary card

Hi again
Well I suppose officially time wise this is blogging twice in one day. This card is an anniversary card for my parents. It's not till mid march but as neither of them are PC savvy I can post it now.

I used my Inkydoodles stamps again for the sentiment. These are my new faves. These were stamped in the Paris Dusk ink. I did say I loved the colour. I used a new paper pack with matching ribbon I bought from Hobbycraft and added some lace. I used Tonic heart dies and a few pearls. Job done....Lea x

Paris Dusk

Hi everyone
I hope this finds you all safe and well from this awful weather. I can't imagine what the poor people who have all this water to contend with feel. If you are one of them my thoughts are with you.

I have used a totally different colour today in my card. The ink colour is called Paris Dusk by Momento and it is a stunning dark lilac blue colour. I absolutely adore it.

This card came about because I was having a play with my new stamps by Inkydoodles. I think this is my favourite set of stamps yet. I stamped some hearts using a stamp from the Tags and Texture sets. I made an anniversary card earlier (that's one for tomorrow) and the diecuts from Tonic were 'leftovers' that I didn't use. I stamped a tag and added some ribbon to it. I finished with some pearls. Well it's off to my bed I go now. I'll be back with my anniversary card tomorrow...Lea x

Girlie card

Hello all out there in Blogland.

I have had a pretty lazy day today. It has passed and I've done very little. It is becoming a very bad habit. I think I need someone to give me a (not too hefty!) boot up the bum. I really should try to do some work when having a reasonable day so that when it's not so good I've covered at least something be it just dusting the furniture!

I've made quite a girlie card today. I inked an embossing folder and with a piece of white card ran it through my ebosser. I backed it onto pink card and added some stickles to it. I had coloured an image the other evening and backed this onto the same card. I added a diecut, a butterfly and a sentiment which I heavily stickled (can't you tell I've just found stickles). I finished with flowers from my stash and some gems.

Well that's me done. I'm off blog hopping now. Until next time...Lea x

80th card

Hi all
Well I'm managing two days on the trot! I'm not having much of a crafting day today as it's not one of my better days - it therefore gives me more blogging time instead!

My card is an 80th birthday card I was asked to make. I must admit I was a little worried about the colour but everyone who has seen the card has been very positive about it.

I used a paisley embossing folder on cream and tan card and ran ribbon to seperate them. I stamped the sentiment and die cut them out. I then used my SB dies to embellish these and finished with a few gems.

Well that's it from me. Be back soon...Lea x

Time flies

Hi everyone
Well once again time has got the better of me and it's a few days since I last blogged. I have been spending some time making a wedding card which I have been commissioned for. Unfortunately it can't be shown until the end of March as the recipient is part of my circle of friends. After doing that card I did a 'quickie' from the Midnight Elegance kit from Hunkydory. I do particularly like this kit. The background is from the kit which I have backed onto a lovely bright pink mirror card. I added some pink webbing and ribbon and finished with gems.

Gosh the picture quality looks awful again.

I am thoroughly enjoying my new craft room. It's good to be able to spread myself out to my hearts content. Mr B bought me a fab, comfy chair yesterday - I feel very spoilt. I know it meant my boy moving out but I am happy, happy, happy.

Well I'm off to craft some more. Hopefully time will slow down a little now. Until next time...Lea x

80th birthday card

Hi all

Well it's been a couple of days since I last blogged. I have spent the last few days trying to make two male cards. Oh i do find it hard to make cards for men. I think sometimes I overthink it. I look online then pull out ideas then I end up not liking the look. Instead I should just go with what comes out of my head because that's how I ended up with the resulting cards.

This one is made using a variety of black and white papers. I used SB dies for the focal point with a sentiment I made on my PC.

I finished with black bakers twine, gems and a double decker bus charm.

Well I'm off now I'll show you the other card tomorrow.....Lea
