80th Birthday

Good morning all

Well it's cooled down a little here this morning and I don't think I like it! There's quite a breeze coming through the open windows (I like a little air in the place especially as with the fibro I can't always go very far and sometimes not at all). I like to breathe the air but brrrr it's a bit chilly after it being so warm!

Anyway I have a card to blog today. It is a male card for an 80th birthday. As most of you know I do struggle with male cards and this was no different. It actually started out as a 6 x 6" card (for the young ones 15cm x 15cm) but it ended up as an 8 x 8" (20cm x 20cm) card because I kept adding layers and adding layers. I am actually very pleased with it. It is a very different colour for me too. I don't normally do orange!

One of the paper pads a lady gave me a few months back had this orange double sided paper - on one side the orange pattern and on the other the cars. I decided to make panels so chopped into it and thought I'd have three panels of the cars, I didn't like it! I flipped one over so I had the orange and yes it was okish. I ended up putting them through a Happy Birthday embossing folder (although you can't see it) because it was too flat. I didn't like it as a smaller card so just kept extending it with more and more white and black layers. The final white layer has been through my dotty embossing folder. The sentiments were PC generated. As usual I can't remember what the name of the SB dies is - it's one of their earlier ones. I inked through the die whilst they were still in place using Memento Tangerine ink - these are my favourite ink pads.  I find them easy to use especially as I use them on my glass cutting mat now (I just couldn't get on with my blending mat at all). I then just finished with some tiny, black gems.

Hopefully you can see the cars in this picture.

Well I'm off again for now. I've still have ANOTHER male card to make lol. I could be a while...Lea x

Pink birthday card

Here we are again folks!

What a gorgeous day it is again here although according to the news it's not so good in the SouthEast of the country. I think I'll take what I can get :) I had great plans today, I was going to do so much and this has resulted in me doing absolutely nothing! Oh dear! I just have no idea where the hours have gone today.

I do have a card to show that I made a couple of days ago.  Again using paper and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

I ran the pink paper through a Couture Creation Houndstooth embossing folder. This was mounted on just a thin border of black.  The sentiment was mounted onto an SB die cut. I used a punch down a strip of black paper and mounted this on the card. My one regret is I kept this strip quite flat - if I had my time again I'd either emboss this or lift it on pads. I then just finished with some pink gems and a knot in a scrappy bit of ribbon I had in my leftovers box.

And that is me done for yet another day. I could be AWOL for a few days as the cards I have left to blog are for commissioned orders that I can't take the chance of blogging as the recipient may see them. So until then all....Lea x

Flowers

Hi everyone

Thank you again for your kind comments on yesterday's post. It is lovely to know there are people out there who understand what it's like when the mind is willing but the body just doesn't want to do lol.

My card today is sort of a happy accident. It wasn't meant to look like this at all. I've again used papers, a sentiment and flower from Craftwork Cards. These are a really lovely quality and I really love the bits and pieces from them. I backed the paper etc onto black - this just makes it stand out more. Now if you look carefully you'll see the white flower is actually debossed.  I originally thought I'd do a panel like yesterday's card and emboss a patterned piece of paper but it just didn't look right. In the end I flipped it to use it on the white side of the paper. I just added a band of seam binder ribbon and tied it into a neat knot. I think it looks quite nice actually. I then just finished with some gems.

At least it meant I didn't waste the piece of patterned paper. Like all crafters I hate to waste anything.

Well that's me done again for today. I have done my visiting of blogs today. I hope I haven't missed anyone. I now do loads of visiting - I've said before I love looking at other peoples creations - I also love Pinterest. I'm off to craft now. Catch you again soon...Lea x

Anniversary Card

Hello everyone

I hope this finds you well. I am loving the weather today - not too hot with a light breeze. Just perfect for a fibro girl. I do struggle when it gets too hot. I've had a crafty couple of days although I have found it frustrating at times. As well as the fibro I also have a dystonic tremor in my right arm. This can be a real struggle sometimes because I go through stages where it really plays me up. The last couple of days have been like that. I have thrown so many things (not deliberately might I add) around the room. I am always finding pearls and gems everywhere because they have flown out of my hand. The other day Mr B looked a bit startled because I tried to put a little glass jar down onto my glass cutting mat. Well I lost control - the noise it made where it just kept clattering on the mat coz I just couldn't put the jar down was horrendous. Fortunately most of the time I do laugh about it but sometimes it drives me mad. I do think the meds I take for it need putting up - I think a visit to the doc is in order. Anyway I'm not moaning - I'm just saying :)

I have got a card to show you anyway.

This is a simple card. I've used papers and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards. I backed the card with black card and kept the paper flat on it. I then ran the panel through an embossing folder before backing on black. The sentiment is sitting on a die cut from an SB die. I then just finished with some black gems.

Anyway that's me done for tonight. I'm off blog hopping now...Lea x

Girlie card

Hello all

I hope this finds you well. Thank you so much for your kind comments about my cards. I really appreciate them. I hope you enjoy popping in as much as I love visiting your blogs. If I am missing anyone out you'll have to give me a nudge.

Well I've not really got much done these last few days - I can not get my head together and today I feel really naff! It's not I haven't got any cards to make because I have - loads - but I just seem to have lost my umph!

The card I'm blogging is one I made ages ago. I usually blog cards as I make them - this one seems to have got lost along the way. It's not the only one either - I found a couple more that slipped through the net.

I love the image - I can't remember where she's from - possibly my Daisy and Friends CD. She is coloured with my Promarkers and I just touched the edge of her dress with glitter. I inked round the die cut and tucked a doily under it. I love buttons on cards and thought this was just what this card needed. I haven't really had time lately to make cards like this - ones that are just for fun as I seem to have made a lot of family cards and a few commissions. I am itching to make Christmas cards at the moment but the right time hasn't arisen yet :(

Well I am off now. I'm going to spend a few minutes visiting blogs before I settle down to bed. Catch you again soon....Lea x

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge:

Anniversary Card

Hi again everyone

Just a quick catch up tonight - I won't go on too long lol. Many thanks again for all your kind messages, as usual it is much appreciated.

My card today is a simple one.

The birdcage and swirl is from an embossing folder that was a freebie with a magazine. I mat and layered this onto white and black card. The sentiment was hand stamped. I then just added a few pearls to finish.

I hope to see you all again tomorrow...Lea x

Baby card finished!

Hello all
Just a quick post from me. I've finally finished my baby card.

The topper elements are all stamped from Inkydoodles stamps. I paper pieced the clothing and bunny on the line. The line poles were stamped and the washing line drawn in with a fine liner. The baby was stamped, cut out and coloured with Promarkers. The name was cut out from a sheet of 12 x12 I've got in my stash. I just added lace and a little bling to pretty it up.

can now get this card in the post to the new Mummy and Daddy. That's me done anyway. Until next time...Lea x

Thank you card

What a gorgeous day it is here. I hope it's the same for you out there.

I was asked to make a thank you card for a teacher by a neighbour. I'd got it planned in my head and then had a lightbulb moment - maybe it would be a good idea to ask if the teacher was male or female. Well wasn't it just my luck...guess who had to make a male card...yep me!!!

The backing paper and the paper used for an insert are from a paper pack given to me - unfortunately I've lost the cover so don't know what it is. I backed it onto a jade card. I used the same for the band across adding a couple of metal brads to it. I used a freebie stamp from a mag for the image on the top die cut and inked through the die on them both to get the white edge on them. The dies are all SB. The sentiment was again from a freebie set from a mag. I stamped the first part on the tag and continued the sentiment inside on another die cut. I finished with some brown pearls and some ribbon through the tag.

I have spent the last three days procrastinating over a baby card for a friend who has had a little girl. I really need to get my backside in gear and get it done. I'm sure it will be ready soon if I don't keep getting sidetracked. Until next time everyone - happy crafting...Lea x

Birthday card

Hi everyone

Gosh this blogging malarkey is becoming a habit! I must be on a roll. This card is a little different for me. I've used Craftwork Cards papers and flower die cuts for this. I backed the spotty paper onto orange card. I'd already used my circle dies to cut a circle into the spotty paper and then cut one just off the edge of the green card. I put the green card through a Crafters Companion embossing folder. I then just finished with a tiny pearl in the rolled part of the flower and then three to the bottom of the card. Mr B is not very keen on this one. I'd be interested in your honest thoughts on the matter - just be kind to me lol....Lea x

21st card

Good evening everyone

I've come upstairs to watch Endeavour on TV in peace leaving the two 'boys' to watch the footie. It suits me coz I feel a little rough. I was a bit late taking my meds and that has a knock on effect....my own fault.  They have all been devoured now so all is good. The problem is I get sidetracked and if I'm just a little late I feel it. I'll suddenly think I don't feel right and hurt like hell and that's usually the problem. I used to set an alarm - maybe I need to go back to it. I thought I'd grown out of needing an alarm lol.

Well a bit of a break from the all out cards today. My son asked me to make a card for a friend but 'keep it simple' were my orders. His wish is my command and simple it is.

I stamped my sentiment straight onto my card base (very brave of me!) and then backed some left over pink flowered paper onto black. I then used my number die set from Tonic to first cut out the outside and backed that onto black and used pads to lift this layer. I then cut out the 21 and backed that onto black and dropped it into the middle section. I decided to keep the bling to a minimum too and only added one little pink gem to the key of the 21. Very restrained of me lol.

Anyway that's all from me today. Happy crafting everyone, take care...Lea x

Number two

I hope you've had a fab Saturday. The weather has been lovely here today. I wish I could move my craft table outside. I did eat my breakfast out in the garden. I'm under doctors orders to get outside for twenty minutes with my face and arms bare as I have a vitamin D deficiency - just another thing to add to the rest of my ailments lol. I have had it for about a year now so every time the sun comes out so do I!

Well here is engagement card number two. Again the names are masked off.

Again I've used LOTV papers and Tonic dies. I've used the same embossing folder on the top as I used yesterday. I've used ribbon and bling with a few flowers to finish. Once again an easy card to explain. Well that's me done again for today. I shall return agin soon...Lea x

Engagement card

Hi everyone
Thank you to everyone for the lovely comments on my posts once again and welcome to my new followers. My mouth is healing nicely unfortunately for Mr B. I think he was hoping I would be quiet for just a little longer.

My card today is an engagement card. I have covered the names on this one as it's very important the recipients don't see it. It is unlikely they will see my blog but I want to be on the safe side as one of them doesn't know they may be getting engaged! Thats all I'm saying.

The pretty paper is from LOTV and the die cuts made from my Tonic dies. The top is embossed using a Theresa Collins embossing folder. I then just added ribbon and loads of bling. I wish all my cards were as easy to explain. I'm off now to complete another engagement card that I've been working on for another couple - again with one of the recipients not knowing what's coming. These are ordered from a parent who is in on the secret and wants to be prepared. My lips are sealed....Leax

Retirement card

Good evening all

Well I'm a bit woe is me tonight as I had a growth removed in my mouth today and it's feeling rather painful. As you can see I'm feeling a smidge sorry for myself haha. Mr B was tempted to ask them to put a few extra stitches in and sew my lips up whilst they were there. In his dreams....

While moving my craft stuff around the other day I found dies I'd forgotten I'd got. The SB lattice die I've used in this card is one of them. It can be extended to however long you need it. I used my piercing ruler around the edge of the card first then added some patterned paper and the lattice layer to it. The sentiment was PC generated and cut out with SB labels 20. I inked this in the die with a lilac ink pad. I framed it with a smaller die cut. I added flowers and leaves made from a Sue Wilson die. I added coloured pearls and a bow to the card.

Anyway I was really quite pleased with the way this card came out. Right I'm off to finish feeling sorry for myself. Catch you again soon....Lea x

21st birthday card

Hello all

Well here I am again...feeling a bit better today. The problem at the moment is not my hands at the moment but the most awful pain in my legs. I've upped the meds and am hoping that will start to bring it under control. I do not know what I would do without my crafting because it is the one thing that keeps me occupied and takes my mind away from the pain.

I have made a card to show anyway. I must admit I love the colour of this one. First off I mat and layered some paper from my stash and white card. I put some ribbon and web across this and then embossed some more white card and then used my SB Borderbilities dies to shape the bottom. The sentiment was PC generated and cut out using a die from the SB Majestic Lablels.   I used Sue Wilson dies for the flowers and leaves. Then added a bow and lots of bling.

As usual thank you for popping by - I am always grateful for your kind comments...Lea x

60th birthday

Well hi everyone out there in Blogland. I hope this finds you well. After a dark, dingy start to the day it actually turned out not so bad in the end. Thank you to all who have come by and for all your comments - they are much appreciated.

My card today is a commissioned one and is for a 60th birthday.

I've used SB Majestic Labels (can't remember the number) on this card behind which I've used a LOTV paper. These dies do all the work for you to be quite honest, they are so pretty.  The sentiment was PC generated. I've then added flowers, leaves from a Tattered Lace die and some gems. The ribbon and bow are made from American seam binding which I've had for ages.

Well that's me again for now. I'm off To visit some blogs now...Lea x

Hubby's Anniversary Card

Hi All

Well it's been a few days since my last blog post and although I feel pretty naff at this moment in time I just wanted to show my Anniversary card I made for Mr B. It's quite a simpleish card really.

I pierced round the edge of some white card and then matted a piece of lovely navy coloured mirror card on top - I also cut a heart from the mirror card using a SB die I've got. I made a frame with white card and mounted that on top of an SB lattice die cut background which I rediscovered while sorting my dies out last week whilst moving my stuff.  I stamped 'anniversary' round the frame and also stamped 'husband' and backed it onto the mirror card. I then just added some matching gems.

Before I go I'd just like to also show you a beautiful card I won by commenting on a post on http://flowersribbonsandpearls.blogspot.co.uk/ last Friday. I was extremely lucky to have my name pulled out. If you would like to have the chance there is a new card up for grabs today.

Isn't it gorgeous?

Well that's me done for today. Hope you'll pop by again soon....Lea x
