Football

Hi everyone

I always seem to have little breaks between my blogs - I have no idea how people can blog every day without fail, I am so impressed at you guys out there that do. It seems to take me ages to pull my ideas together just to make one card!

My card today is for my Grandson for his birthday - and no Owen if you are reading this it's not for you!!! I just love this footballer stamp. It just amazes me how different it can look. Today I've just stamped it in black and backed it on blue card. This has then all been added to different coloured embossed card. I then just added the wording and gems.

Tomorrow I'll show you a very pink, girlie Christmas card I've been working on. I'm just waiting for the lovely Stickles to dry! Until then all...Lea x

Herringbone

Good evening all

It's very late again - this is becoming a habit! I have had a lazy day. I had a hospital appointment at lunch time which I'm pleased to say went well. The consultant was very amused at something my doctor had sent through in my notes - it had details of my meds then had a section that said 'any problems'. There were three things in this section - the first one I can't remember what it said, the second one said Fibromyalgia and believe it or not the third one said 'born in Belgium' which I was! The consultant thought it was highly amusing and I suppose it was when you think about it. I'm glad I made someone laugh any way.

When I came home From the hospital I sat and watched five hours of a program I'd downloaded off Catchup. It was called Our Girl and it wasn't bad at all.

Anyway to my card. It is an extremely simple card. I used a hammered effect card base and stamped the sentiment directly on it. I used my embossing board to score some lines round a square piece of card and then ran a blue piece of card through a Herringbone embossing folder. This was trimmed to fit within the score lines. A length of bakers twine was added and some gems finished the card.

Well I'm off to my bed now fellow bloggers. I'll catch up with you again soon. Take care all..Lea x

Flowers galore!

Good evening everyone

I hope this finds you all well and warm! It's been a funny sort of day - I keep flipping the heating up one minute then down a notch the next.

I am not sure about the card I'm showing today. I'd say actually it looks better in real life - the picture distorts the colour a little. I started by backing a flowered paper onto an olive green card. I added an 'L' shape of ribbon. The flower is a mixture of SB dies and a Sue Wilson one. The flourish is from a large Sue Wilson die - I've actually trimmed it down a little. I hand stamped the sentiment and tucked it under the flower. I finished with some gold pearls.

I am not sure if it needs something else and if it does I have no idea what!! Any suggestions would be received gratefully. I'm now off to do some Christmas next. Catch you again soon...Lea x

Tried and tested

Hello all

I hope this finds you all well. I'm not really feeling this cold - it does unfortunately play around with the fibro so I'm all snuggled up in the warm.

My cards are a tried and tested easy, peasy male card. I just love this embossing folder. I passed white card through the embossing folder for both of these then inked over them in the two different colours.

I like the fact the more you ink the more it brings out the details of the folder. I then just backed these onto coloured card and stamped the person it's for onto white card and cut this into a flag shape. I decided to leave them at that and didn't even add any gems!

That is me for now. I'm hoping to do something a bit more girlie next. Until next time...Lea x

Christmas card

Hiya everyone

Well the weather has turned well and truly. I really don't like the wet but I suppose I'd better get used to it. They reckon it's gonna be absolutely awful tomorrow - I don't want to play!

Anyway my card is a Christmas card. It's a different colour to the norm for a Christmas card and I have no idea why I chose it. I think I'd been using the same sort of colour tones and I wanted a change!

I started by embossing a peach colour card using a Tattered Lace Christmas folder - I love these folders a lot. I backed this onto silver mirror card. I also embossed a piece of white scrap card that I'd previously cut a snowflake out of - waste not, want not I say! I wrapped a piece of ribbon round this and backed it onto pads. I then added a little snowflake (from an SB die) and a sentiment cut from Britannia word dies. I then finished with a bow and gems. Well that's me done for today. I unfortunately have about seven male cards to make now for November birthdays - that really fills me with glee....Lea x

Son no 2

Hi everyone

Thank you so much for your lovely comments about my cards - it truly is much appreciated. Well I don't know if I mentioned both my sons birthdays are within days of each other. My eldest son saw my youngest sons card and was quite peeved coz they were nearly the same - his words haha! Well ok I have to admit it they are similar. At the time I made them I hadn't been particularly well so had to come up with a format so I could do similar but not the same.

Again the back ground was made by inking the embossing folder - this time on the other side. I used an SB die to cut the aperture and also to cut one in another blue layer. The inked layer was raised on pads. The footballer is from LOTV and stamped with the Archival Cornflower ink. The same with the footballs which I cut out and put on pads for height. I used Britannia word dies for the sentiment and added a few gems.

Well that's me done again. I hope to get some crafting done this week. The problem with suffering from Fibromyalgia is that when the fatigue hits, you just can do nothing. Well fingers crossed for a better week this week and some card making. Thanks again for coming by...Lea x

Brother

Hello strangers

I feel I've been AWOL for days and days again! It's been about a whole 11 days. I haven't done any crafting for a few days - actually I haven't done much at all. I have just been too tired.  I can however start blogging some of the cards I've made recently and not been able to show you until now.

This card is one I made for my eldest son from my youngest son. It's a very simple card. I started with a piece of white card and embossed some lines round the edge of it. I embossed some blue card and backed it onto this. I stamped Happy Birthday directly onto the base card and added a few gems. I stamped brother in the same blue ink and backed it onto blue and white card and then added some bakers twine.

Well it's good to be back. Until next time...Lea x

Son birthday card

Hello everyone

Well it's good to be back after being AWOL for a few days. I've done no crafting but have read four books! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy reading - it's amazing what having no internet does for you!  Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post - I will be popping along to catch up on everyone's blogs over the weekend.

My card today is one I made for my own lovely son who turned 22 last weekend.

I started this card by inking up an embossing folder. I then ran it through my ebosser which then transferred the ink to the embossed area. I did three different pieces of card using the same ink but getting a lighter effect on the other pieces of card. I used my SB labels 18 to cut an aperture. I laid this over an LOTV stamped image. The colour I've used is Archival Cornflower - I love this colour ink. I stamped the sentiments and backed these onto an inked mat. I finished by adding some tiny pearls that were the perfect colour to go with the ink.

Well that is me done for today. Hopefully it won't be long until I blog again. Until then...Lea x

Snowflakes no2

Hi everyone

I hope this finds you all well. Thank you so much for your very kind comments over the last few days - they are really appreciated.

Today's card is another snowflake card. This card has been very hard to photograph. No matter what I've tried the picture just looks very dark. I don't think my overload of silver mirror card helps! The snowflake paper is another of the freebie ones - I did say they were lovely and if it's got aqua colours in I'm a happy bunny! I backed the paper onto an aqua coloured card then attached the ribbon round this then put it onto silver mirror card. The snowflakes are all cut from SB dies. I added a lovely Creative Expressions pearl snowflake to the centre. These are so pretty. As you can see this card has a huge bow on with a pearl dazzler added to the centre. I could get away with this size bow as this card base is 7 x 7 which I've never used before. I found them at The Range and they are a nice size base to work with. Sometimes 8 x 8 is too big and 6 x 6 too small. I think I may be using this size a lot in the future.

I finished the card with some pearls in the corner and finished the snowflake with some small pearls on the Fleur de Leys. This will be one of my 'special' cards I think.

Anyway that's me for now. I may be AWOL on my blog for a few days as I have a few things to do. Hopefully I'll be able to pop across in the evenings and see what you are all creating. Until next time...Lea x

Snowflakes

Hi all
Another Christmas card today! It's just a simple one again - I used my Ariondack Cornflower ink to stamp different sized snowflakes on a piece of white card - I used a silver ink pad to stamp some in between and some overlapping. The silver snowflakes were a bit of a pain as it is a new very inky pad and just didn't seem to want to dry at all. Anyway I backed this onto silver mirror card. I cut two snowflakes out using SB snowflake dies. I added a pretty bow and some gems to finish.

Anyway that's me for today. Catch you again soon....Lea x

Reindeer card

Hello everyone

I hope this finds you well. It has been a few days since I last blogged - I'm afraid the blinking fibro has come to visit yet again. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of let up at the moment - it comes and it goes. I'm not being a moaning min honestly, it is what it is and I'm just saying!

Anyway I've made a couple of quick birthday cards which I can't blog for the moment - I'm trying to keep them simple at the moment. The cards were men's ones so I did well to get two done. And as you can see I've also made a quick Christmas card. The lovely reindeer paper was free from a magazine - the same one I got the lovely free embossing folder from. I embossed it with a Tattered Lace embossing folder. I hand stamped the sentiment with a green distress ink and used an SB tag die to cut it out. I added some navy ribbon and some gems.

And that is my very quick Christmas card. Have a good evening all...until next time..Lea x
