Version 2

Hi all

Hope you're all well. It's been quite a nice day today...the sun actually showed its face!

I've been busy making a card with another background I made yesterday. I used the same stamps as yesterday....it amazes me how using different coloured ink can make a card that looks so different. I changed the layers slightly too although I still used black and white card.

I finished with pearls from The Hobbyhouse. I love the colours these come in.....Lea x

Something a bit different!

Hi everyone

Well it's been a few days. I apologise for not making it round very many blogs the last few days but after this I'm off for some visits!

My card today is something a bit different for me. I put some inks onto my glass craft mat then sprayed them with water. I took a piece of watercolour card and 'smooshed' it through the ink and ended up with this lovely background. I then dried it off with my heat tool before using my stamping tool to stamp these gorgeous Woodware flower stamps and the sentiment from Creative Expressions. I used a couple of blue Promarker pens to highlight the petals of the flowers. I trimmed and mounted the background onto black and white card. I finished with some coordinating pearls from The Hobbyhouse.

I'm probably going to add a little black bakers twine down the side. I am very pleased with this card...I've already got a different coloured background ready for the next card......Lea x

Graduation card

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well out in Blogland. Thank you for your lovely comments. Today's post as usual is very late. This card was quite a large one. It was a commissioned one and took a long time to make. Boy did it take a lot of thinking about too. I used some book dies to make the different layers....I used a Sue Wilson starry embossing folder for the top layer. The wording was all PC generated. The little scroll had the wording all the way through. The scallop dies are from Spellbinders....I used two different sizes to frame the sentiment. The mortar board was quite simple to make - it was just a square which I threaded a handmade tassel through. I added the book to a large card...it was nearly A4 size. The card was backed with matching layers. I finished with a bow and a few pearls. I must confess I was quite proud of this card.....Lea x

Woodware

Hello all

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post. You really are all very kind. It is lovely to be back in the blogging world - as usual I have seen some amazing cards and projects. I've been ducking in and out depending on how I feel. This card came about by accident...it really wasn't meant to look like this. I was playing around with a Woodware stamp - these are actually some of my very favourite stamps. I coloured the stamp with some Altenew pens and I wasn't really very pleased with it. My son's girlfriend talked me into continuing so after weeks of sitting on my desk I carried on and made it into a belated card for a friend. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the corner and then stamped a sentiment. I added a few pearls and finally I added an insert made with a matching colour card. The insert completely changed the look of the card. Finally I was happy and the card was posted! I hope you like it....Lea X

Pretty vs Monochrome?

Hi everyone

I hope this finds you all well. As usual I'm very late blogging...the day just seems to get away from me. Once again my card is made from Hobbyhouse bits n pieces. This is a real pretty, pretty one...I love it. Everything on the card is from the kit.....all ribbon, flowers, pearl string etc all came with it. Makes it easy to match all the tones together with the card etc. It also makes for an easy, quick card.

My next card wasn't made by me...it was made with guidance from me! My grandson came to stay before Father's Day and made his Dad (my eldest son) a card. I must admit I was super impressed with this card. The stamp was I believe a Stampendous one. My son has a caravan so this stamp was very apt. It was stamped using a black Versafine ink then my grandson added some black pearls where the bunting is and used a black fine liner to highlight parts of the caravan. The background was made using a linen effect embossing folder which was then backed into black card. A piece of ribbon was added down the side. The card was finished with a sentiment stamp and pearls were added to the corners. It was a very simple card but I feel the monochrome effect was super effective. I love it....but I am biased lol....Lea X

Hobbyhouse caravan

Hi all

I want to start by saying thank you for your very supportive comments on my blog...I really am very grateful for your lovely feedback. I've been trying to get round everyone's blogs - I'm sorry if I've missed anyone...if I have please give me a shout out!

Today's card is one I made for my son's girlfriend. My son and Evie have a little caravan which is their pride and joy and they love to go off with it - I thought this card was very appropriate. The cream card is Creative Expressions coconut white....this goes lovely with all the pinks and greens in the Hobbyhouse pack the caravan topper came from. The bottom layer was pierced all the way round with a piercing ruler and pokey tool. The ribbons, twine, buttons and pegs all came with this kit. I couldn't resist using a bit of everything. Yes I know I got a bit carried away! The caravan topper is sitting on a SB loopy circles die cut and the bunting is from a Sweet Dixie die. The bit of sparkle you can see was done using stickles. I must admit it took me a while to make this card as all the small details needed a steady hand which of course I haven't got! I'm afraid a lot of patience was needed.

Evie came over today as Mr B and my two sons went to watch the RedBull Soap Box race at Alexandra Palace. We decided to make keepsake cushions from some of my Dads shirts. I'm showing one of them here. I'm not a seamstress so I mostly 'supervised' while Evie used the sewing machine. We were really quite pleased with how they turned out.

Well that's me done for today. Thank you for dropping by......Lea X

1st Birthday card

Hello all

Well what a beautiful couple of days it has been weather wise. I was pleased yesterday was nice as we had my wonderful Dads ashes interred and I think if it had rained I'd have screamed as every time I seem to go to the crematorium it chucks it down with rain. I visited again today as it is my Dads birthday and again it was lovely so I could actually just sit quietly up the Crem.

It actually seems to be a day for birthdays as it is my eldest son's girlfriends birthday and also the birthday of the recipient of this card. He is my daughter's best friends little boy and he is an absolute little beauty. The image is again from LOTV. The papers are from The Hobbyhouse and were backed onto silver card. I used a little ribbon and lace across the card. The stars, cupcake and balloons are from SB Sapphire dies....the number die is a Tonic die. I finished with some little gems. I was very pleased with this card.....Lea X

Weddings!

Hi guys

I hope this finds you well. Thank you for the lovely comments on my blog - it's nice to be back in Blogland. I'm loving being back looking at your creations.

I've got a double whammy for you today - two wedding cards made for my niece for when she got married last month. I've used a mix of Creative Expressions bright white and lilac card for the first card. The die cuts on the lilac card are all from the Tonic range and are often my go to die for weddings. As you can see I added lots of bling and pearls to the card. I finished with lilac ribbon and a little rose bud from my stash.

The second card has an embossed mirror card background. The embossing folder was a Crafters Companion linen one. The die cut is from Tattered Lace. I cut it a few times so I could layer the wedding cake. I finished with a few gold gems and my trademark pearls. The pearl corners are from Creative Expressions.

That's me done for today. Hope to see you soon....Lea X

30th birthday card

Hello all

I hope you are well. It's been a beautiful day here today....not too hot, just right which suits me as the fibro really causes me to suffer if the weather is either too hot or too cold. When it was very hot a few weeks ago my poor hands and legs were really painful.

I have very mixed feelings tonight - on the one hand I am super excited because my lovely youngest son is coming tomorrow evening for nearly a week - however on the other hand he is coming for a sad reason...we are laying my Dad's ashes to rest on Wednesday afternoon.

On a brighter note let's talk about my card. This card was a commissioned card for a 30th birthday (state the obvious Lea!). The papers were from a really pretty pad by Anna Marie designs...I'm not keen on green but this pad is lovely. I backed the green paper layers onto white card. The sentiment was PC generated and glued onto two layers of my fave SB loopy circles die. I used white lace and ribbon on one layer. The pearl embellishments are from Creative Expressions and the flowers and bow from my stash. I do love all the colours on this card.....Lea X

Coral birthday card

Hi all

I want to start by saying thank you for your very kind comments on my blog both about my cards and the loss of my wonderful Dad. I'd forgotten what a lovely lot my fellow crafting buddies are.

My card is made using a Woodware stamp...I love this make of stamps and I have loads that I haven't used yet - it's a work in progress. My new stamping platform is brilliant for me for stamping. I love the fact if I don't stamp the image properly I can just restamp it. I coloured the flower with Altenew pens set A. I would love to do more colouring but my hand won't allow me to colour small areas so I tend to buy stamps with large areas. I do like layered stamps too as they take away the need for colouring. You guys should see me try to write a card - it always looks like a five year old has written them. I used a Sue Wilson embossing folder on the White card, the bottom of the coral card was done using a scoring board. The sentiment is from LOTV and it is sitting on my favourite SB die. The butterflies are die cut but I'm not sure of the make. I finished with my fave pearls and a pretty bow. The ribbon is from LOTV - their ribbons are lovely. The colour of this card is actually much better in real life.....Lea X

Baby card

Hi everyone out there in Blogland

Well I thought I'd show another card today. I had to check the recipients (the new parents) had received the card. My daughter ordered it for a friend of hers - my daughter said the new Mum nearly cried when she opened it - I'm pleased she liked it.

The pink spotty paper was from The Hobbyhouse. I layered some white card with it. The pink pearls, ribbon and pink lace were also from The Hobbyhouse. The sentiments were PC generated. The larger one was cut out with a Spellbinder die. The little baby was from an LOTV art pad and cut out on my ScanNCut. Everything was finished with embellishments from Creative Expressions. I must admit I love making personalised cards like this.

Right that's me off. Catch you again very soon.......Lea x

It's been a long, long time!

Hi everyone

Well you must be wondering where I've been. I decided to take a while off from blogging as I was spending a lot of time blog hopping and not enough time crafting. Unfortunately since I stopped blogging my life has changed a lot. Unfortunately my Mum was taken quite ill the end of December and was in hospital for five weeks. While this was going on my poor Dad was very tired and just seemed extremely unwell too - my poor Dad died at the end of February of secondary liver cancer. We were fortunate we got Mum home for two weeks before he died so they were able to be together. Sadly just as we should've been celebrating Mum and Dads 60th wedding anniversary we were having Dads funeral. We are still in shock but are trying to get on with life and looking out for Mum. I didn't craft for a couple of months but have started making a few cards again. I'm struggling with my tremor which has deteriorated a lot but am trying to find ways ways round it. All I can say is thank goodness for dies, cutters and stamping platforms!

Anyway to my card. This was made for my granddaughters 8th birthday. The image is from an LOTV art pad. I've used a dotted embossing folder for the background....I love this colour blue with the white....just gorgeous! The flowers are pre made from my stash - the sentiment is from my favourite relative ones from LOTV. I finished with a few gems.

I hope to start a little blog hopping again. See you there......Lea X

Ps the number die is a Tonic die. It has an outline die and a patterned one so cuts a few different ways. It's also a good size. X
